Coach Robert Long serves as the Savannah United West Girls Program Director, overseeing the day-to-day operations of Savannah United West. With over a decade of coaching experience, Robert has developed players across various levels of Georgia soccer, working with athletes of all ages.
Robert’s playing career includes time at Rocky Bayou Christian Academy, Effingham United, and Effingham County High School (ECHS), where he earned recognition as Team Captain and MVP. He was also nominated to Savannah’s All-Coastal Empire Team and set multiple school and club scoring records, earning the Best Offensive Player Award.
Transitioning into coaching, Robert has been a key figure in Effingham Soccer and Savannah United, bringing his passion and expertise to the development of young players. He holds a U.S. Soccer Federation National C License, equipping him with advanced coaching knowledge to foster player growth and success.
Robert’s dedication to long-term player development is evident in the number of athletes who have progressed through his programs and earning opportunities at the collegiate level. His ability to nurture talent, instill discipline, and foster a competitive yet supportive environment has helped shape the female athletes that he’s coached. His focus is not just on short-term success but on creating a foundation for sustained growth, equipping players with the skills and mindset needed to succeed at higher levels of the game.
In addition to his role with Savannah United, Robert is the Air Traffic Control Training Supervisor at Hunter Army Airfield, demonstrating his leadership ability to operate in high pressure environments. He is also committed to giving back to the community, having been recognized for his volunteer efforts teaching soccer to children with disabilities and special needs.

Coach Christopher Stevenson leads as the Savannah United West Boys Program Director, bringing over 14 years of coaching experience to player development. His expertise spans multiple levels of the game, from grassroots to competitive soccer, with a strong background in both European and American coaching systems.
Christopher holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science and Exercise from Napier University in Edinburgh and a National Diploma in Sports Development and Coaching. His coaching certifications include the Scottish FA C License and the U.S. Soccer Federation D License, demonstrating his commitment to player education and technical development.
Christopher has a diverse coaching background, having served as a Develpment Officer with the Scottish Football Association (SFA) and as Assistant Coach for Falkirk Women’s Football. In the United States, he has worked extensively in youth soccer, serving as a Regional Director for Challenger Sports, working with clubs across Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Additionally, he has coached with Soccer Association of Columbia, Effingham United, and Savannah United.
With experience at various levels of the game. Coach Chris is dedicated to fostering technical growth, tactical understanding, and a love for soccer among young athletes. His leadership at Savannah United West ensures a high standard of coaching and a positive developmental environment for all players.
